The technical preparation section explores a variety of finger shapes across all strings, supporting accurate placement and relaxed movement. Early pieces continue the successful Book 1 approach, beginning in first position before being transposed up the octave. Later pieces become more advanced, allowing students to apply their developing technique directly in more independent musical contexts.
